Support Engineering Data Specialist 3

Essential Qualifications (Skills & Experience):

A minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing flight series publications and forms (military/commercial derivative flight manuals).
Possess flight or flight training experience (pilot, flight engineer, flight training).
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of military/commercial derivative flight series manuals.
Ability to interpret intricate engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.
Capable of efficiently and effectively managing multiple projects with varying requirements.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Key Responsibilities:

You will interpret and analyze a range of data, including engineering, reliability, maintainability, supply chain, and customer operations, to develop comprehensive support solutions. These solutions will encompass support analysis, provisioning, spares, maintenance, inspection, and technical data. You'll offer recommendations on product supportability and define operation maintenance tasks and necessary support resources. Your work will involve developing support systems to meet supportability requirements, identifying logistics support candidates from product definitions, and creating logistics support analysis records and reports. You will also determine spares provisioning needs and recommend spare and replacement parts, levels, and stocking strategies. A significant part of your role includes writing and maintaining technical documentation for operating, testing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft systems and components. Furthermore, you will evaluate aircraft and fleet performance to establish effective maintenance concepts. You will also develop, analyze, collect, and store system support technical data to inform recommendations, ensuring product supportability and efficient operations.

Create and revise military flight documents, including Aircraft Flight Manuals, Operating Manuals, Pilot Abbreviated Checklists, Operating Handbooks, Weapons Manuals, and Weight & Balance documents.
Collect, research, and analyze engineering source data and specifications to inform documentation.
Lead activities to define, document, and maintain flight manuals, checklists, and crew operation procedures.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, including system engineers, technicians, flight test engineers, pilots, and publications personnel, to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Develop technical publication project plans, budgets, and baseline schedules to manage projects effectively.
Conduct peer reviews of completed publication elements, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Actively engage with customers to support the development and accuracy of the products you maintain, ensuring they meet user needs.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Previous experience as a pilot, radar navigator, flight engineer, or electronic warfare officer.
Experience as part of a flight crew.
Familiarity with Arbortext Editor and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML).
Possession of a pilot's license or military aviation experience.
Working knowledge of Military Specifications and Commercial Standards.

Required Education:

A typical candidate possesses accredited education and experience gained through a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience, such as a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, or 10 years of directly related experience, will also be considered.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, first-shift position with hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
