Full Job Description

TITLE: Programs Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Unit Director

WORK SCHEDULE: Full -time; Generally scheduled between 10:00a-7:00p Monday-Friday, occasional evening/weekend duties related to events.

Exempt X Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Programs Coordinator will assist the Unit Director with the development and implementation of programs for all members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. These programs are designed to increase opportunities for members’ success in three primary areas: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. The Programs Coordinator must possess an ability to get along with diverse personalities and display tact, maturity, and professionalism daily.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

· Have an unwavering commitment to safe and high-quality delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities.

· Provide program staff with training, resources, and support necessary for them to effectively implement grant funded programs.

· Ensure quality improvement of programs by conducting program evaluations and implementing changes if needed.

· Provide support to Unit Director and staff in the areas of planning, management, program execution, and communications.

· Develop & maintain positive professional relationships and partnerships with community leaders and organizations, as well as parents, teachers, principals & other school personnel.

· Represent the organization and interpret its objectives, standards, and programs to community partners.

· Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize the Clubs.

· Work well as part of a team as demonstrated by respectful interactions, assuming fair share of work, communicating directly (avoiding gossip), and approaching constructive criticism with a learning attitude.

Program Development and Implementation:

· Prepare, monitor, implement, and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure the safety of members, and guests’ quality in programs.

· Track and document program participation and outcomes which will be shared as requested by administration.

Program Impact/Reporting:

· Support, plan, develop, train, implement, and evaluate unit programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives, member needs and interests.

· Coordinate with Senior Programs Director to ensure all staff are trained on all programs and that programs are implemented in the Unit’s correctly.

· Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation including reporting on grants such as TANF.

· Conduct surveys with teachers, parents, and members at the end of each semester in order to evaluate the impact of programs.

· Provide data required by grant commitments.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain high standards of customer service in dealing with members, parents, volunteers, other staff members, and the public.

· As needed support Unit Director in attending meetings with or communicating with parents/teachers regarding club members post-secondary goals.

· As needed, participate in special programs or events, and attend weekly staff meetings.

· Participate in all required staff meetings and training.

· Complete all necessary documentation, including member participation, pre- and post-testing scores, program evaluations, accident reports.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

· Must be 21 years of age. (High School Diploma or GED).

· Some college preferred, but not required

· 3 years of experience working with children and basic knowledge of youth development.

· Basic knowledge of Youth Development

· Experience motivating youth and managing behavior challenges.

· Experience planning and implementing programs/activities for youth.

· Knowledge of diverse student populations, including those with disabilities or language barriers.

· Experience organizing and supervising members in a safe environment.

· Ability to maintain relationships with colleges, employers, and community organizations.

· Sensitivity to cultural diversity and inclusiveness.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

· Prior Boys & Girls Club experience

· CPR and First Aid Certifications

· Elementary/Secondary Education degree

· Bilingual-preferred

· The job requires working, standing, bending, turning, reaching, talking, listening; works in a clean, well-lighted, heated and ventilated building.

· Demonstrated ability to maintain a high energy level, be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities, and effectively communicate with a variety of audiences in various settings.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
