This full-time position will be either FULLY REMOTE or based out of SEARCH’s NORMAN OFFICE, Monday through Friday, for local candidates. The position may be eligible for compensatory time or approved overtime in accordance with company policy, an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance, and a comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Be Doing
Civil infrastructure is the backbone of modern society. As a civil designer, you will have the opportunity to shape how people and the environment interact on a day-to-day basis. SEARCH provides engineering services for many different fundamental infrastructure systems and leans heavily into water, wastewater, stormwater, environmental, and land development. As a capable, growing professional, your role will be to bring engineering designs to life. You will play an integral part in developing a project from its conception through its final revision. Projects that take years to complete require clear, purposeful management grounded in a systematic approach to each project. As an industry professional, you will work closely with the team leader and have the opportunity to:
· Maintain organized project files in accordance with established workflows and standards
· Produce accurate, coordinated construction documents
· Incorporate survey and GIS information
· Create utility relocation plan and profiles
· Perform land development grading
· Identify potential design conflicts and coordinate resolutions
· Perform thorough self-checks and assist with first-pass CAD quality reviews
· Respond to engineering and regulatory redlines
· Coordinate drawing production with engineers, the team leader, other CAD staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
· Generate quantity takeoffs from design drawings
In-Office Position
For local applicants, occasional travel and fieldwork may be required, including construction site visits, data collection, and other project-support activities. Applicants must be able to perform these duties safely in varying field conditions, including limited lifting, climbing, and work in confined or elevated areas when necessary. Local applicants will also assist in mentoring and supporting other staff as needed. These expanded responsibilities will be considered in determining position level and compensation.
Remote Position
This remote position is available to candidates residing in the United States who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Remote employment is available in states where SEARCH is established or able to employ personnel. Preference will be given to remote applicants from Oklahoma and Texas, though all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Remote employees may establish a flexible daily schedule but must maintain at least four hours of regular overlap with SEARCH’s Central Time working hours and remain available for scheduled project and production meetings. Occasional, company-paid travel to Norman, OK, may be required. SEARCH will provide the computer hardware and software required for the position. Remote employees must provide a suitable professional workspace and reliable high-speed internet service. Remote employees will have the opportunity to assist with mentoring and supporting other staff, though in a more limited role, given the nature of where work is performed.
