Overview

Join our dynamic finance team as a Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk and become a vital contributor to our financial operations! In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and financial regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting expertise while supporting the smooth functioning of our organization’s financial health. Your attention to detail, proactive approach, and enthusiasm for financial accuracy will help us maintain efficient accounts payable processes and uphold our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and other payable transactions accurately using various accounting software.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions with general ledger entries to ensure consistency and correctness.
Review invoices for compliance with company policies, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and internal controls.
Assist in maintaining vendor records, including onboarding new vendors and updating existing information within financial systems.
Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable and performing account reconciliations.
Handle data entry tasks with precision, utilizing Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and formulas for data analysis and reporting.
Contribute to accounts payable automation initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Skills

Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, UltiPro, or similar platforms; experience with Workday, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian is a plus.
Knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards and internal control procedures.
Experience handling confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Excellent Excel skills, including data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP and creating spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes such as invoice processing, account reconciliation, and accounts receivable management.
Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10-key typing skills; strong attention to detail is essential.
Basic knowledge of payroll management, benefits administration, or governmental accounting is advantageous but not required.
