The Portland International Jetport is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Engineering and Facilities Department. Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Engineering and Facilities, this position assists in the design and budget of airport maintenance and improvement projects, including preparation of plans and specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of construction cost estimates.
- Contract monitoring.
- Construction inspection and review.
- Project design/drafting.
- Technical document preparation.
- Work order prioritization, and the review and close-out of completed work orders.
Requirements:-
Graduation from a 4-year ABET accredited college or university in engineering or a related field; any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education which provides a minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in the specialty assigned may be substituted in lieu of education requirement.

Excellent computer proficiency and experience with Google Workspace products, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, superiors, other city departments and the general public, and to deal with tenant and public relations problems in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Possession of a valid State of Maine Class C driver’s license; must have and maintain a good driving record.
- Successful completion of TSA Criminal Background Check in accordance with TSR Part 1542 to acquire and maintain an airport security badge.
Training & Experience Desired:
- Registration as an Engineer In Training (EIT), facilities management experience.
- Experience with and an understanding of airport operations, experience using sustainable building practices.

Expected Hours & Schedule:
37.5 hours/week Monday-Friday; 8:00am - 3:30pm
Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, ProTech Grade 9M - with a starting pay range of $41.27/hr-$47.83/hr, based on relevant years of experience.
