This Is Not Just an Entry-Level Office Job

Precision Armament is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, customer-first Sporting Goods Customer Service Representative who wants to build real customer service, office, and business operations skills.

This role is for someone who can:

Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers.
Learn systems quickly and use them accurately.
Balance customer service and order entry responsibilities with strong follow-through.
Put the customer first while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and urgency.
Communicate credibly with customers about firearms and firearm-related products.

If you are looking for a low-responsibility office role where details, systems, product knowledge, and customer experience do not matter, this is not the right fit.

What You’ll Do

Sporting Goods Customer Service Representatives at Precision Armament are trusted to support customers, process orders, and help ensure smooth coordination between customer service and other business functions. Performance is evaluated on professionalism, responsiveness, attention to detail, product knowledge, learning ability, and follow-through.

Responsibilities include:

Entering and processing customer orders accurately.
Answering phones, emails, and other customer communications.
Assisting customers with questions, order status, and service-related issues.
Maintaining accurate customer, order, and communication records.
Supporting communication and coordination between Customer Service, Fulfillment, Sales, Purchasing, Receiving, and Production.
Developing and maintaining working knowledge of firearms, firearm operation, and Precision Armament sporting goods products.
Learning and using business systems and software accurately and efficiently, including Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word, NetSuite ERP, and AI tools such as ChatGPT.

You are expected to help create a professional, responsive, technically credible, and dependable customer experience while supporting the operational follow-through behind it.

This is an entry-level customer service role, but it is not a “just answer the phone” position.

Precision Armament operates within the sporting goods and firearms industry. Employees in this position must be comfortable discussing firearms and firearm-related products and must have sufficient working knowledge to communicate accurately and credibly with customers.

Who Will Not Be a Fit — Bad Fit

This role is not a fit if you:

Treat customer service like a scripted transaction instead of a real responsibility.
Get frustrated easily with customers or fail to put the customer first.
Are uncomfortable working within a firearms-related business environment.
Lack basic familiarity with firearms and are unwilling to develop stronger product knowledge.
Struggle with attention to detail, order accuracy, or follow-through.
Dislike learning new systems, software, products, or technology.
Resist computers, ERP systems, or AI tools and do not want to build those skills.
Need constant supervision to stay organized and productive.
Avoid ownership, communication, or accountability.
Prefer narrow, repetitive work and do not want to grow into broader responsibility.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience with and working knowledge of firearms and how they function, preferably supported by five or more years of relevant experience.
Developing and maintaining working knowledge of firearms, firearm operation, and Precision Armament sporting goods products.
Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to learn order entry, customer service, and internal office systems.
Capability and eagerness to learn and use business systems and software accurately and efficiently, including Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word, NetSuite ERP, and AI tools such as ChatGPT.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Basic math skills, including discounts, percentages, proportions, and order-related quantities.
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in and transition through both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned areas as needed.
Reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.
Valid Class D driver’s license.
Ability to independently travel between Plant 1 and Plant 2, approximately two miles apart, as needed.

Compensation, Profit Sharing, and Benefits

Precision Armament rewards performance, quality, and long-term contribution. In addition to hourly pay, we offer:

Pay: $22.00–$28.00 per hour to start, with skill-based growth and advancement
