Full Job Description

Position Title: Activities Coordinator Job Code: AC

Department: Activities FLSA: Non-exempt/Hourly

Job Summary

Provides leadership and direction for residential and hospital activities programs with 24 hour accountability for his/her department. Assures the provision of a safe, effective and appropriate activities program in accordance with the established philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the facility Responsible for directing the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program. This includes completion and/or directing/delegating the completion of the activities component of the comprehensive assessment; and contributing to and/or directing /delegating the contribution to the comprehensive care plan goals and approaches that are individualized to match the skills, abilities, and interests/preferences of each elder/patient. Managing the activity program includes scheduling of activities, both individual and groups, implementation of the programs, monitoring the response and/or reviewing/evaluating the response to the programs to determine if the activities meet the assessed needs of the elder/patient and making revisions if necessary.

Portrays the facility in a positive manner within the building and in the community. Maintains the integrity of patient information keeping with HIPAA regulations. Oversees the staffing pattern schedule; delegates assignments; assists with hiring; performs manager’s duty in regards to employee time and attendance; evaluates staff performance; initiates corrective action related to employee performance; provides supervision of staff for ‘mentoring’ and orientation.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
