Full Job Description

Job Summary

Unicorn Tire is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HR Assistant to support our Human Resources team. This role provides administrative support across key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and committed to helping create a positive and efficient workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the recruitment process, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
Coordinate new hire onboarding, ensuring all documentation and orientation steps are completed accurately and on time
Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, updates, and employee inquiries
Respond to employee questions and escalate concerns as needed to appropriate HR team members
Prepare and distribute internal communications such as memos, announcements, and policy updates
Assist with payroll support tasks, including time record verification and employee inquiries
Help coordinate employee events, training sessions, and HR initiatives
Maintain accuracy of HR systems, databases, and personnel files
Provide support on HR projects and additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
1–2 years of administrative or HR support experience
Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment laws is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
