About the Position

Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $69,601 to $101,146.80, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for delivery of the County’s public health and human services that meets the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children, adults and seniors. The programs of Services to End and Prevent Homelessness (SEPH) have a common vision: access by all people to safe, affordable housing, and opportunities to improve quality of life. The mission of SEPH is to make homelessness a rare, brief, and non-recurring event by operating from a Housing First philosophy. SEPH provides a full continuum of services including housing stabilization, homeless diversion, and permanent housing; and employs evidence-based and promising practices. SEPH programs collaborate with public and private partners through the Interagency Commission on Homelessness.

Rapid Rehousing is currently recruiting for a dedicated, compassionate, and service-driven professional who is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve housing stability. What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will help individuals and families overcome barriers to housing stability by providing client-centered support, service coordination, and housing navigation assistance. You will work collaboratively with participants, landlords, and community partners to promote successful housing placement and long-term stability.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Able to identify appropriate housing options for participants and assisting them in navigating the move-in process.
Addressing barriers to overcome housing
Offering support through vocational services, community resources, rental payment monitoring, landlord engagement, and crisis resolution.
Maintaining communication with Montgomery County Health and Human Services, landlords, and property management companies to ensure stability in the community.
Documenting client communications in a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database and updating service plan goals with participants.
Initiating payment through EICM for Landlord subsidy payments.
Building relationships with landlords and property management companies.
Assisting clients with housing applications, lease review, and move-in coordination.
Ensuring adherence to funding requirements and agency policies.
Participating in case staffing and multidisciplinary team meetings
Advocating for clients within the housing and social service systems
Evening hours maybe required as needed

This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office.

Work Schedule: Flexibility is required, as program activities, client appointments, landlord coordination, or community meetings may occasionally require evening or weekend hours.

Telework: This position may be eligible for limited hybrid telework after the initial training period and in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s Degree.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in human services that involved substantive client contact and service delivery through direct assistance or referral. This experience must have included ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of cultures and overcome potential barriers to service.

Substitutions: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Medical Protocol: This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment medical evaluation, which includes a physical examination and drug screening.

Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

Experience providing human services involving client contact and service delivery
Experience in customer-service-oriented culturally diverse environments
Experience serving individuals experiencing socioeconomic, legal, or housing instability
Understanding of Housing First principles
Clear written cross-cultural communication
