Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction, primarily focused on HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering principles, particularly from an architectural or building systems perspective, combined with proven project management expertise. This role involves managing project scope, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, materials, and client relationships to ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field (Architectural Engineering strongly preferred).
6–10 years of progressive experience in project management within the mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, or building systems industry.
Minimum of 5 years of dedicated project management experience leading mechanical projects from inception through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical projects, including HVAC installations, plumbing systems, design-build initiatives, retrofits, and service/maintenance contracts for commercial, industrial, and large residential applications.
Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, value engineering opportunities, and cost control measures.
Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and inspections to monitor work quality, safety, and adherence to timelines.
Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Ensure all projects comply with OSHA safety regulations, local building codes, and company policies.
Prepare project closeout documentation, including as-builts, warranties, and final reports.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven track record managing mechanical/HVAC/plumbing projects valued from 5 Million Dollars Plus.
Strong understanding of building mechanical systems, including HVAC design principles, piping, ductwork, controls, and integration with architectural elements.
Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar), Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of construction contracts, lien laws, and project delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build).
PMP certification, PE license, or similar credentials are a plus but not required.
