Full Job Description

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Civil/Structural CAD Designer to join our growing team!

CAD Designer (Civil/Structural)

We are seeking a CAD Designer with experience supporting engineering and construction projects through 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and construction document development.

This role partners with engineers to deliver Issued for Bid (IFB) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Autodesk tools
Produce construction documents, bid sets, and detailed design packages
Create layouts, schematics, grading plans, and structural details
Coordinate with engineering, design, and project teams
Apply CAD standards, QA/QC processes, and drafting best practices
Manage drawing revisions, redlines, and document control
Support design calculations and technical problem-solving

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of CAD drafting/design experience in a project-based environment
Strong proficiency in civil and Structural 3D modeling
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, or CADWorx
Experience with:
- Site design and grading
- Construction drawings and plan sets
- Structural detailing (steel and/or concrete)
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Bonus if you have any of the following Qualifications

Experience in oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of survey data processing
Familiarity with multi-discipline project coordination
