Position Overview
Veritas Strategies is seeking an experienced Service & Bar Manager for a confidential hospitality concept.
This role owns the service team and bar operation, including hiring, training, performance management, scheduling, inventory, service execution, and financial accountability.
Success is measured by team performance, operational consistency, member satisfaction, and achievement of defined KPIs and financial targets.
The Service & Bar Manager serves as the front-line guardian of the member experience. This person should know members by name, anticipate preferences, build strong relationships, and create an environment that feels personal, polished, efficient, and comfortable.
This position reports directly to the organization’s Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities1. Team Leadership, Hiring & Development
- Lead all bartenders, servers, and service support staff.
- Own recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and separation.
- Establish clear expectations for performance, professionalism, accountability, and hospitality.
- Provide real-time coaching and lead ongoing team training.
- Develop technical skills, product knowledge, service execution, and consistency.
- Address performance issues quickly and directly.
Outcome: A disciplined, well-trained team that consistently performs at a high level.
2. Performance Management
- Lead biweekly team meetings and monthly one-on-one meetings.
- Conduct biannual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Establish measurable performance expectations and goals.
- Implement improvement plans when standards are not being met.
- Participate in regular performance reviews with senior leadership.
Outcome: Clear accountability, communication, and measurable team improvement.
3. Scheduling, Payroll & Staffing
- Build weekly schedules aligned with business demand and events.
- Optimize labor efficiency while protecting service standards.
- Review and approve payroll accurately and on time.
- Manage time-off requests, staffing levels, and coverage.
Outcome: Reliable coverage with disciplined labor management.
4. Bar Operations & Inventory
- Oversee day-to-day bar operations and workflow.
- Ensure consistency in drink quality, presentation, timing, recipes, and pours.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked bar environments.
- Manage ordering, par levels, inventory counts, and vendor relationships.
- Monitor beverage costs, waste, shrinkage, and inventory variance.
- Identify and correct operational inefficiencies.
Outcome: A consistent, efficient bar operation with strong cost controls.
5. Service Standards & Floor Execution
- Actively manage the floor and overall service experience.
- Ensure consistency in timing, behavior, presentation, and member interaction.
- Reinforce standards through real-time direction and coaching.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming environment.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the member experience.
Outcome: Consistent, repeatable service across every shift.
6. Event Execution
- Lead service and bar operations for events, private functions, and member activations.
- Ensure staffing, preparation, communication, and team alignment prior to events.
- Coordinate closely with event leadership and other operational teams.
Outcome: Structured, well-executed events without service breakdowns.
7. KPI & Financial Accountability
- Own execution against operational and financial targets established by leadership.
- Translate monthly, quarterly, and annual goals into actionable operating plans.
- Adjust staffing, training, purchasing, and procedures based on performance.
- Track and manage key metrics including:
- Beverage cost of goods sold
- Inventory variance and shrinkage
- Labor performance
- Member satisfaction
- Average guest check per member visit
- Revenue performance
- Prepare monthly reporting and action plans for senior leadership.
Outcome: Consistent achievement of defined service, operational, and financial targets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing service and bar teams in a high-standard hospitality environment.
- A genuine love of hospitality and a strong desire to create memorable experiences for members and guests.
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, inventory management, purchasing, and labor control.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
- Experience with scheduling, payroll, POS, inventory, and other operational systems.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience in a private club, membership-based concept, cigar lounge, luxury hospitality environment, or similar setting strongly preferred.

Compensation
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
- Performance-based compensation tied to pre-established operational, financial, and service KPIs.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
