If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative and technical support functions to the United States Attorney's Office, District of Nebraska. Typical work assignments will include:
- Receives visitors to the USAO and refers each visitor to the appropriate staff member.
- In accordance with office policy, determines the need and arranges for an escort for visitors.
- Distributes mail to appropriate staff members.
- Reviews documentation required to open and close criminal and civil cases, enters data into docketing system and ensures proper codes are selected.
- Supports the administrative needs of the Administrative Division.
- Provides assistance to support services, budget and human resources.
- Assists in maintaining property inventory.
- Serves as backup for the timekeeper and assists with processing time and attendance for employees.
- Assists with travel and training for the District.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

GS-05: To be eligible at the GS-05 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education OR a Combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience providing a variety of clerical and administrative functions such as producing written documents utilizing office automation software; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; preparing and/or assisting with travel requests and vouchers; making purchases within governing procurement regulations; receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office.

Education: Four years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. One year of full-time study is defined as 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) or the equivalent or 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in business, secretarial or technical school.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of education and experience. To qualify based on a combination, college education must be excess of 60 semester hours beyond the second year. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
