Release, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Part-Time Community Intervention Specialist to join our Social Work team. This position supports children, youth, and families involved in the child welfare system by helping families build safety, stability, and the skills needed to remain together or work toward reunification.
This role is ideal for someone who is mission-driven, flexible, organized, and able to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive team. The Community Intervention Specialist works directly with families in homes and community settings, provides practical support and guidance, completes required documentation, and collaborates with supervisors and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
In-Home Family Support
Provide direct support to children, youth, parents, and caregivers in home and community settings. Help families maintain safety, strengthen relationships, and work toward case goals.
Parenting and Life-Skills Support
Provide coaching, encouragement, and practical skill-building related to parenting, communication, household stability, decision-making, and family routines.
Resource Navigation
Assist families in identifying and accessing community resources, including housing, counseling, education, transportation, healthcare, and other support services.
Collaboration and Communication
Communicate professionally with parents, foster parents, caseworkers, supervisors, schools, service providers, and other professionals involved with the family.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain timely, accurate, objective, and professional documentation of services provided, family progress, concerns, follow-up needs, and required monthly reporting. Documentation is an essential responsibility of this position and must be completed in accordance with Release’s documentation standards.
Supervision and Team Support
Participate in supervision, case consultation, and team communication. Meet regularly with a supervisor to review case progress, address concerns, and receive guidance.
Compensation, Documentation, and Timekeeping Expectations
This position is paid at a client contact hourly rate of $22.50 per client contact hour. The client contact rate is structured to compensate for direct client service time and the expected documentation associated with that service. The expected structure generally includes one hour of client service plus up to 15 minutes of related documentation for each client contact hour.
Employees are expected to complete documentation efficiently, accurately, and within Release’s documentation standards. Employees are also responsible for accurately recording work time and following Release’s timekeeping procedures. If documentation, service coordination, supervision, training, meetings, or other assigned work requires time beyond the expected structure, the employee must promptly communicate with their supervisor and follow department procedures for approval and time reporting.
Release expects employees to be transparent about time worked and to notify their supervisor if they believe additional time is needed to complete required work.
Schedule and Work Environment
This is a part-time, hybrid, field-based position. Work will include travel to family homes, community locations, and occasional office or virtual meetings. Some evening and weekend availability may be needed to accommodate family schedules.
This position requires strong time management, communication, and follow-through. Employees must be able to manage appointments, travel, documentation deadlines, and supervisor communication in a timely and professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of experience in social work, human services, youth work, family support, mentoring, coaching, childcare, education, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with children, youth, parents, caregivers, and professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete timely and accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to pass required background checks, registry checks, and drug screening.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with children, youth, or families.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, child welfare, family support, mentoring, crisis response, or case management.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, receive feedback, and grow professionally.
