Full Job Description

Part-Time Corporate Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Lowe Legal Group PC LLO is a boutique business law firm that provides in-house legal counsel, corporate and transaction legal counsel for start-ups and small to mid-size businesses, complex contract review and negotiation support for physicians and C-suite executives, and commercial real estate services for owners, tenants, developers, and brokers.

We are seeking a part-time corporate paralegal or experienced legal assistant to support our business law practice. This is an excellent opportunity, with competitive pay, for someone who enjoys corporate legal support work but wants a break from the traditional office or corporate environment and prefers to work in the peace and quiet of their own home.

This is a remote position, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of Omaha. Scheduled days and hours can be negotiated. In general, the position requires 4 to 5 days per week, approximately 4 to 5 hours per day, with work occurring sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist with corporate, transactional, contract, and administrative legal support matters, including:

Business entity filings with the Secretary of State
Corporate records management
Contract review support
Proofreading and document review
Administrative filings
Calendaring and deadline tracking
Law firm billing
Email and document management
General administrative support
Trademark-related support, if applicable

Required Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have:

At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or comparable law firm support role
At least 5 of the last 6 years working in a law firm support role
At least 2 years of experience handling business entity filings and corporate records management, including personally filing at least 10 business entity filings with the Secretary of State within the last 5 years
At least 2 years of experience using law practice management software, such as Clio, PracticeMaster, MyCase, or similar platforms
Excellent attention to detail, proofreading skills, and organizational ability
Ability to work from home in a secure, professional, and distraction-free environment
Residence within 50 miles of Omaha

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or paralegal certificate
Trademark filing or trademark support experience
Prior experience supporting corporate, transactional, business, contract, or commercial real estate legal work
