How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - 525 Kansas team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Boiler Mechanic you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite and monitor and maximize the performance of the EPS boiler room and supporting equipment.

Essential Duties:

Boiler Maintenance

Performs the duties of a 3rd grade stationary engineer in boiler room

Mai Maintains log books according to schedule.

Monitors the performance of the boiler and water quality throughout the shift.

Performs boiler blow down once per shift.

Machine Repair

Coordinates repair of machinery and equipment in both EPS and injection

Co Completes projects to defined maintenance procedures and instructions

Maintains and monitors the operation of air compressors and dryers at EPS.

Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts, to include gas torch, tig and mig.

Operates drill press, belt sander, sand blaster, pedestal grinder and numerous hand tools with thread pitch both inch and metric.

Provides the required mechanical tools to perform the job:

Mold Operation

Performs housekeeping procedures to standards.

Monitors plant air, steam and water set points at EPS and makes adjustments accordingly.

Performs machine lockout/tagout to established procedures.

Maintains company attendance standards.

Adheres to Airlites safety policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned.

Re Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); City of Omaha 3rd Grade stationary engineer’s license.

2-3 Experience in an industrial maintenance role preferred.

Must be willing to work 3rd Shift (10:30pm - 7:00am)

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

Ability to write routine reports in English.

Ability to speak effectively with company employees and supervisors in English.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.

Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and calipers.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to use hand tools.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing and Excel software

Upholds and supports organizational goals and values.

Take the initiative to ask for and offer help when needed.

Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours weekly.

Works weekends and holidays, as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.

Must own an Industrial maintenance tool set.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSE:

Forklift and aerial lift certificate is required. City of Omaha 3rd Grade stationary engineer’s license

O Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The employee is occasionally exposed risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
