Full Job Description

Join Our Team as a Mammography Technologist

St. Joseph's Imaging Associates is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mammography Technologist to join our Breast Care Center team. In this role, you will provide high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography services while supporting patients throughout their breast health journey, including those undergoing evaluation, treatment, and follow-up care related to breast cancer.

The ideal candidate is ARRT-certified in Mammography, committed to excellence in patient care, and able to provide compassionate support to patients who may be experiencing anxiety, uncertainty, or a cancer diagnosis. Responsibilities

Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals throughout all stages of breast health, including those undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Educate patients on mammography procedures and answer questions to help ease concerns and promote understanding.
Ensure patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety during all imaging procedures.
Accurately position patients to obtain optimal imaging results.
Operate and maintain mammography equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Collaborate closely with radiologists, breast surgeons, oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Perform all required quality assurance testing in compliance with MQSA, ACR, FDA, and New York State requirements.
Stay current with advancements in mammography, breast imaging, and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to all departmental, organizational, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

ARRT Certification in Radiography and Mammography (Required).
New York State Department of Health licensure, as applicable.
BLS Certification (Preferred).
Experience in mammography preferred; breast imaging experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of mammography equipment, imaging techniques, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic care to patients facing difficult diagnoses.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to image quality and patient safety.
