Job Overview
At Hearths A' Fire, we're looking for someone who shows up ready to work, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in leaving customers with a safe, beautiful finished product. Every installation is different, so we're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to new challenges. Experience in construction, carpentry, roofing, HVAC, masonry, or fireplaces is preferred, but we're happy to train someone who's dependable, eager to learn, and has a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Install wood, gas, and pellet stoves, fireplaces, inserts, and chimney systems according to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
- Assist with chimney liner installations, venting systems, and related installation work.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment required for installations.
- Load, unload, and transport materials and appliances to and from job sites.
- Inspect job sites before and during installation to ensure safe and proper installation conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at customer homes and job sites.
- Communicate professionally with customers, answering basic questions and representing the company in a courteous manner.
- Complete required paperwork, installation documentation, and photos as needed.
- Work closely with other installers and office staff to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Assist with warehouse duties, inventory organization, and other tasks as needed during slower periods.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on products, installation techniques, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work required. Valid driver's license with clean driving record required for operating company vehicles.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfortable working at heights, including on roofs and ladders.
- Physically capable of performing demanding work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional attitude with strong customer service and communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work.
- Construction, carpentry, roofing, HVAC, masonry, chimney, or fireplace installation experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn new products, installation methods, and industry best practices.
