Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech) – Travel Assignment

Location: Cooperstown, NY
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Pay: $2,850/week
Schedule: Days, 40 hours/week

Position Overview

A leading healthcare facility in Cooperstown, NY is seeking a skilled Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech) to join their cardiovascular imaging team. This role requires strong experience in adult echocardiography, including inpatient, outpatient, and advanced diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & On-Call Requirements

Shift: Day shift, 40 hours per week
On-Call:
Approximately 1 night per week
Every 5th weekend (Friday–Monday)
Potential holiday coverage
Response Time: Must be able to respond within 1 hour

Key Responsibilities

Perform high-quality adult echocardiographic studies including:
Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
Stress Echocardiography (STE)
Conduct portable inpatient and outpatient imaging
Assist with structural heart procedures
Administer and utilize contrast agents and agitated saline studies
Ensure proper TEE probe high-level disinfection (HLD)
Accurately document procedures and findings in EMR systems
Maintain patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality throughout all procedures

Required Qualifications

Education:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Cardiac Diagnostic Sonography program
Certifications & Licensure:
Registry eligible for ARDMS (Adult Echocardiography)
RCS eligible through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Active credentialing preferred but eligibility required at minimum

Required Skills & Experience

Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE):
Inpatient (portable) and outpatient imaging
Adult Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE):
Including probe handling and HLD protocols
Adult Stress Echocardiography (STE)
Experience with:
Ultrasound contrast agents & agitated saline studies
Structural heart procedures and imaging support

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric echocardiography experience
Familiarity with Epic EMR system

Equipment & Technology

Ultrasound System: Philips EPIQ
EMR: Epic

Ideal Candidate

Strong clinical judgment and imaging skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Flexible and dependable with on-call coverage
Excellent patient care and communication abilities
