Role Summary

The Director of Broward leads the day-to-day execution of ĒMA's program in Broward County, serving as the strategic translator between organizational program design and local implementation. Reporting to the VP of Programs, this role is responsible for bringing ĒMA's model to life on the ground, managing staff, overseeing program delivery, stewarding the local budget, and building the community relationships that sustain the work.

As ĒMA's flagship location and the organization's national gold standard, Broward is the primary site where the model is tested, refined, and proven before it is scaled. The Director carries responsibility not only for local outcomes but for holding the highest program performance in the country, surfacing real-time insights that help sharpen the model across the affiliate network. This role operates across two Broward locations and may include additional expansion collaborations as ĒMA grows.

Role Description

The Director of Broward is successful when the team is equipped and empowered to ensure mothers are learning, connected to a community of belonging, and receiving the critical supports they need.

In the first year, the Director will have:

Built a cohesive, accountable team with clear roles, strong performance rhythms, and a healthy culture across both Broward locations
Established consistent, high-quality program delivery aligned with ĒMA's model and standards
Strengthened Broward's community partnerships and expanded participant reach
Developed reliable operational systems and reporting processes the team can sustain
Contributed actionable, experience-based insights that inform program refinement at the organizational level

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

Build and lead a values-driven team, establishing clear roles, expectations, and accountability structures
Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development support to strengthen team effectiveness and growth
Cultivate a culture of open communication, joyful participation, and high standards
Lead the launch and ongoing management of a BSW/MSW practicum internship program in partnership with local universities, building ĒMA's social work talent pipeline

Program Execution & Operational Excellence

Oversee all aspects of program delivery across both Broward locations, ensuring quality and fidelity to ĒMA's model and standards
Establish and maintain operational systems, workflows, and rhythms that support team accountability and effective service delivery
Monitor program performance using KPI dashboards and program data; proactively identify operational risks and resolve challenges before they escalate
Manage the local budget with discipline and transparency

Program Translation & Improvement

Serve as the primary interpreter of ĒMA's program model for the Broward context, adapting implementation approaches while maintaining fidelity to the core design
Surface operational insights, team feedback, and participant experiences to the VP of Programs to inform program refinement and scalability across the affiliate network
Champion a culture of continuous improvement through data-informed reflection and practical adaptation at the local level
Ensure Broward maintains the highest KPI performance nationally, serving as the gold standard for affiliate sites

Community Engagement & Partnerships

Develop and implement strategies to increase participant engagement and community reach
Build and maintain relationships with local, faith-based, and community organizations, including key child welfare system partners such as DCF and ChildNet
Represent ĒMA externally and build connections that support program delivery, community visibility, and long-term sustainability

Qualifications & Skills Required

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (nonprofit management, public administration, social work) or equivalent professional experience
Passion for ĒMA's mission to prevent family separation and empower mothers
Minimum 3 years of experience in program management or operations, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
Demonstrated ability to execute programs with strong outcomes and clear accountability
Experience leading teams within established systems and program models
Budget and performance metrics management experience
Comfort working with program data, dashboards, and technology platforms to drive decisions
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred

Experience in child welfare, family preservation, or direct service environments; familiarity with DCF, CPS investigations, or prevention-focused case management is a strong plus
Experience managing social work practicum programs, academic partnerships, or workforce development initiatives (MSW or BSW welcome; degree less important than functional experience)
Experience managing operations across multiple sites or leading a program expansion
Familiarity with continuous quality improvement (CQI) frameworks or data-informed program management
Background in nonprofit, human services, or faith-based advocacy settings

The pay range for this role is:
119,000 - 127,000 USD per year(North Lauderdale)
