Sunbeam Television Corporation, WSVN-TV, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Director to lead all HR and Payroll operations. This key leadership role serves as a strategic partner to ownership and management while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

The Human Resources Director will help foster a positive workplace culture, support employees and managers, improve processes, and drive organizational success. The ideal candidate is a people-focused professional with a proven ability to build trust, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

This role requires a proactive, tech-savvy leader who is comfortable working in HRIS and payroll systems, managing multiple priorities, and balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational responsibilities. Strong organizational, project management, detail oriented with problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate sound judgment, and be willing to actively contribute wherever needed to support the organization's goals.

This is a 100% in-office position.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Administration Directly manage and supervise Human Resources, Payroll, and Office Administrative staff, including Executive Assistants, Receptionist, Mail Clerk, and Courier. Partner closely with department heads, managers, and supervisors across both television and real estate operations. Provide guidance and support to leadership on employee-related matters, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning.

Human Resources Operations Oversee all HR functions, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, fairness, and sound judgment. Foster a positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, accountability, and collaboration.

Recruitment & Onboarding Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees. Ensure compliance with FCC Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements and all applicable hiring regulations. Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for employees and managers. Ensure all employment documentation, system access, and workflows are completed accurately and efficiently.

Compensation & Benefits Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of employee compensation and benefits programs. Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits, policies, and HR-related inquiries.

Payroll Oversight Supervise payroll operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation. Maintain payroll policies, internal controls, and audit processes. Collaborate with payroll staff to resolve issues and improve efficiencies.

Process Improvement & Organizational Development Evaluate and enhance HR, payroll, and administrative systems and processes to improve workflow and productivity. Recommend and implement best practices that support operational excellence and employee experience. Lead meaningful culture-building initiatives that strengthen morale, foster engagement, and create workplace employees are proud to be part of.

Business Continuity & Special Projects Coordinate and maintain hurricane staffing plans and related documentation, including the Hurricane Book. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

Experience Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience in Media with broad HR generalist expertise. Demonstrated success managing multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and payroll oversight. Experience supervising staff and partnering with senior leadership.

Preferred Certifications SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
