Position Overview
Dillard’s is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Salon Manager to lead and grow our in-store salon business. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of salon operations, including talent acquisition, team development, client growth, retail sales performance, customer experience, and business planning. The Salon Manager serves as a leader, coach, recruiter, and business strategist while maintaining the high standards of service and professionalism that define the Dillard’s brand.

This leader will drive salon profitability through strategic planning, innovative marketing initiatives, community engagement, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, and retain top salon professionals.
- Create a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, service excellence, and continuous development.
- Coach, mentor, and develop salon team members through ongoing training and performance management.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and establish growth plans for team members.
- Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional work environment.
Business Development & Growth
- Develop and execute daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Drive salon growth through client acquisition, retention, and rebooking strategies.
- Build and maintain a personal clientele while supporting team members in growing their own books of business.
- Organize and execute promotional events, focus days, and community outreach initiatives to increase awareness and traffic.
- Partner with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to generate new business opportunities.
Sales & Retail Performance
- Develop strategies to increase salon service revenue and retail product sales.
- Leverage opportunities to engage both salon guests and Dillard’s store customers.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including service sales, retail sales, client retention, productivity, and profitability.
- Ensure team members effectively recommend salon products and services that meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with store leadership to maximize cross-selling opportunities throughout the store.
Customer Experience
- Deliver and uphold Dillard’s exceptional customer service standards.
- Foster client loyalty by creating memorable and personalized experiences.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively.
- Ensure all salon interactions reflect the Dillard’s brand and service culture.
- Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and customer-focused environment.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily salon operations, including scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements, sanitation regulations, and safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage retail product merchandising and replenishment.
- Maintain required certifications and technical knowledge to support salon operations and team development.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Partner with store leadership, beauty departments, and other Dillard’s salons to share best practices and drive business growth.
- Collaborate with corporate partners and vendor representatives to maximize educational and promotional opportunities.
- Support company initiatives and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
Qualifications
- Current cosmetology license required (state-specific requirements apply).
- Previous salon management, salon leadership, or multi-stylist supervisory experience preferred.
- Proven success in recruiting, developing, and retaining salon talent.
- Strong understanding of salon operations, retail sales, and customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and achieve financial goals.
- Excellent communication, coaching, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to analyze business performance and develop action plans for improvement.
- Proficiency with scheduling, reporting, and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

- Experience managing a high-volume salon environment.
- Established network within the beauty industry.
- Experience with community outreach, event planning, and client acquisition strategies.
- Advanced certifications in salon services and treatments.

This is a full time, on-site position located at our Dillard's Store.

A high level of attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
