Full Job Description

Bindery Helpers

The Bindery Helper supports the Bindery Department by assisting operators with the finishing and packaging of printed materials. This position is responsible for catching products from folders and finishing equipment, shrink wrapping completed jobs, packing orders for shipment, and ensuring work is completed according to job specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow written instructions and job tickets accurately. MBO and Stahl experience a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist bindery operators with daily production activities.
Catch, stack, sort, and inspect printed materials coming off folders and other bindery equipment.
Read and follow job tickets to ensure products are processed according to customer specifications.
Shrink wrap completed jobs and prepare them for packaging and shipping.
Pack finished products into boxes, cartons, or pallets as instructed.
Label completed jobs accurately and ensure proper identification throughout production.
Perform quality checks to identify defects, damaged materials, or inconsistencies.

Qualifications

Previous manufacturing, printing, warehouse, or bindery experience is helpful but not required.
Ability to read and understand job tickets, work orders, and written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Skills and Competencies

Ability to follow instructions and production procedures.
Basic math and counting skills.
Good organizational skills.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to maintain production pace while ensuring quality standards are met.

Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

This position does not require equipment setup or machine operation but focuses on supporting bindery production through catching, packing, shrink wrapping, material handling, and quality inspection functions.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
