Full Job Description

KOG Games is the North American publisher of the globally successful action MMORPG Elsword. Based in Orange County, California, we publish and operate free-to-play online games for players across North America and international markets.

We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Community Manager to manage and grow our online gaming communities. This position will interact with players daily, create engaging content and community events, oversee community moderation, and serve as an important communication link between our players and internal game teams.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and engage with players across official community and social media platforms
Build positive relationships with players and encourage community participation
Plan and execute community events, campaigns, contests, and other engagement activities
Develop and maintain a community content and event calendar
Write clear and engaging posts, announcements, event descriptions, and other community content
Monitor community conversations, player sentiment, and emerging issues
Moderate community platforms and enforce established community guidelines
Coordinate and guide volunteer community moderators
Collect, organize, and communicate player feedback to game operations and development teams
Work with the marketing, social media, customer support, PR, and game operations teams on community initiatives
Identify active and influential community members and develop positive relationships with them
Track community engagement, event participation, content performance, and overall community growth
Prepare regular reports covering community activities, player feedback, trends, and campaign results
Research gaming community trends, competing titles, and new opportunities for player engagement
Recommend improvements to community programs, moderation procedures, and communication strategies
Support additional publishing, marketing, and community-related projects as needed

Required Qualifications

At least one year of experience managing social media platforms or online communities
Strong interest in online games and a clear understanding of gaming communities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write engaging, accurate, and audience-appropriate content
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
High attention to detail and sound judgment when communicating publicly
Ability to communicate player concerns and feedback clearly to internal teams
Ability to analyze community activity and explain results to management
Familiarity with major community and social media platforms
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to work full-time on-site in Orange County, California

Preferred Qualifications

Previous community management experience in the gaming, anime, manga, or entertainment industry
Experience managing platforms such as Discord, Reddit, Steam, YouTube, X, Facebook, or Instagram
Experience planning online or in-game community events
Experience creating community guidelines and moderation procedures
Experience coordinating volunteer moderators or community ambassadors
Familiarity with free-to-play and live-service online games
Experience using community analytics or social media reporting tools
Understanding of player sentiment, community escalation, and issue management
