We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income Tax Reviewer to join our growing tax team. This individual will play a key role in the review and oversight of high-net-worth individual and business tax returns while collaborating closely with internal advisors and external professionals.

Job Summary

The Income Tax Reviewer will primarily focus on the review of individual and business tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and families. This role requires a strong understanding of multi-state taxation, investment reporting, K-1s, and complex tax situations commonly associated with affluent clients.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to mentor and collaborate within a team-oriented review process.

Duties

Review Individual 1040 income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and families.
Review business tax returns, including pass-through entities and closely held businesses.
Analyze tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and tax-saving opportunities.
Review and validate supporting tax workpapers and documentation.
Collaborate with tax preparers and advisory team members throughout the return preparation and review process.
Research and interpret federal and state tax regulations as needed.
Communicate professionally with clients and external professionals regarding tax matters and information requests.
Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects throughout the year.
Maintain compliance with internal quality control procedures and deadlines.
Stay current on changing tax laws and industry developments.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5+ years of public accounting or CPA/EA firm tax experience.
Significant experience reviewing Individual 1040 tax returns required.
Experience with high-net-worth individual and family tax engagements strongly preferred.
Experience reviewing business entity returns preferred.
Strong understanding of multi-state taxation, investment income, and K-1 reporting.
Experience with Lacerte tax software preferred.
Experience analyzing and reviewing financial statements for tax purposes.
Active CPA or EA license.
Active PTIN.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and paperless workflow systems.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external professionals.

Irvine Office Location

Professional yet relaxed working environment where open communication is paramount. Our Irvine office is conveniently located near John Wayne Airport in a professional office building with many amenities such as a parking garage, a full-service gym with shower facilities, yoga studio, wellness room, tenant lounge, and an onsite coffee café.
