Position Details:
- Job Title: Sales & Activities Clerk (Part Time, Year-Round)
- Compensation: $18.50 an hour
- Potential for Pay Increase: Opportunities for merit-based increases during the annual performance review period.
- Hours Per Week: During the summer season (June - Sept.) can work up to 40 hours per week. During the off-season (Oct. - May) can work up to 24 hours per week.
- Availability Needed: This position requires a commitment to working year-round, ensuring consistent staffing and exceptional service levels regardless of seasonal fluctuations. We are looking for individuals who can work some day shifts during the week between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, as well as one weekend day. Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, holidays, concert days, and special events.

What You'll Do:
As a Sales & Activities Clerk, you'll be the heart of our member experience, providing top-notch service with a smile. Your daily tasks will include assisting with picnic table reservations, facilitating group picnic area bookings, selling merchandise from our retail store (The Beach Bag), helping members with their guest lists, and ensuring general customer satisfaction across all member interactions. You'll play a key role in creating memorable moments for our community!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing member inquiries in person, by email, and over the phone.
- Conduct daily opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare gate bags and issue passes and bank bags for Gate Attendants.
- Process merchandise sales using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit card transactions, and stock merchandise displays.
- Assist members with picnic table and BBQ reservations, guest lists, passes, and general questions about LMVA facilities, amenities, and activities.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including assisting with inventory, stocking merchandise and forms, processing recreation and registration forms, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must be at least 16 years of age. School work permits are mandatory for anyone under the age of 18, who has not graduated high school.
- A minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training; high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job duties.
- Demonstrates customer service skills. Responds promptly and appropriately to requests for service and assistance from internal and external customers.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities and supports everyone's efforts to succeed.
- Excels at working in a community environment.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
- Ability to deal with occasional changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to find the positive in any situation.
- Demonstrates organizational support by following policies and procedures.
