Position Overview
The Senior Estimator plays a critical role in driving the success of PCRS’s reconstruction operations by delivering accurate, strategic, and timely estimates across a wide range of restoration and construction projects. This position is responsible for managing the full pre-construction process - from initial site assessment through estimate approval - while ensuring all scopes are code-compliant, complete, and aligned with insurance and customer requirements.
This role serves as a key liaison between homeowners, adjusters, project managers, and trade partners, requiring strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. In addition to estimating, the Senior Estimator supports revenue growth through business development, contributes to pricing strategy, and helps drive successful project outcomes.
As a senior team member, this individual is expected to take ownership of their work, support cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes, team performance, and overall company growth—all while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-Construction
- Conduct site visits and assess residential and commercial projects, primarily insurance-related reconstruction
- Develop detailed scopes of work and ensure compliance with building codes and carrier requirements
- Prepare accurate estimates using Xactimate (Symbility a plus), including labor, materials, and timelines
- Present estimates and supporting documentation to clients and adjusters
- Manage supplements and lead negotiations to secure project approvals
- Track, follow up, and convert estimates into awarded work
Business Development
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, adjusters, and referral partners
- Generate new business through networking, outreach, and market engagement
- Support sales goals and contribute to growth strategies
- Participate in marketing efforts, trainings, and industry events
Team & Operational Support
- Collaborate with Project Managers to support project success, including large-loss and complex scopes
- Maintain organized records of estimates, communications, and pipeline activity
- Manage schedule and workload effectively, communicating needs and capacity
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements and team development
- Uphold company standards for quality, professionalism, and customer experience
Required Skills & Knowledge
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction estimating, insurance adjusting, or related field
- Proficiency in Xactimate (Symbility experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Experience with insurance restoration, including supplements and negotiations
- Ability to read plans, develop scopes, and produce accurate estimates
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate business
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Self-driven with strong accountability and ownership mindset
- Collaborative and able to work across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- IICRC certifications and/or Lead-Based Paint (RRP) certification
- Large-loss estimating experience
- Established industry relationships or referral network
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Combination of office and field work
- Travel between job sites required
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift as needed
Reporting Requirement: Report directly to the Construction Manager
Schedule: M-F 8AM-5PM (some weekends may be necessary on rare occasions)
Starting Salary Range: $90,000–$110,000 annually (performance bonus not included in base salary)
