Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Helper, where your enthusiasm and dedication will contribute to creating a clean, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment. In this vital role, you will support food preparation, ensure safety standards are maintained, and assist with daily kitchen operations. Your energy and attention to detail will help deliver delicious meals and exceptional service to our guests or residents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry.

Duties

Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients according to recipes and meal plans, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning surfaces, utensils, equipment, and ensuring proper waste disposal.
Follow food handling procedures meticulously to uphold food safety management practices and prevent contamination.
Assist with meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service while maintaining quality standards.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, report issues, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Experience

Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment provides a strong foundation for this role.
Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry best practices is advantageous.
Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and food handling procedures is essential.
Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members.
Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and meal preparation is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
