Gallery Assistant - part-time/28 hrs per week
Brigham Young University is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to support the daily operations of a campus gallery that serves students, faculty, and visitors. This part-time role (28 hours per week) is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating schedules and events, and helping create a welcoming and well-organized environment.
What you’ll be doing in this role
- Assist with hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling student employees.
- Help oversee daily gallery operations and ensure the information desk and events run smoothly.
- Support gallery events, communications, and facility coordination.
- Track expenses and compile monthly statistics and reports.
- Serve as a friendly and professional public face for the gallery.
What qualifies you for this role
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of office experience required.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and visitors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience supervising small teams.
- Experience creating work schedules and training employees.
- Project management skills and an understanding of adult learners.

Pay Grade: 48
Typical Starting Pay: $20.25-$26.50
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
