Job Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutritional care and support to our residents. This energetic position involves assisting with meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring that dietary needs are met with precision and compassion. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive dining experience for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and workplace safety. Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and food presentation to ensure appealing and nutritious servings for residents.
Serve meals efficiently while adhering to dietary requirements and special diets for geriatric or medically fragile patients.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food handling equipment in compliance with health regulations such as JCAHO standards.
Support food handling activities including bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold food safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, dishwashers, and refrigeration units.
Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy trays or supplies, ensuring workplace safety at all times.
Document meal counts, dietary notes, and incident reports accurately to support quality care and regulatory compliance.

Skills

Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food service industry is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and sanitation procedures.
Ability to work efficiently within a team while managing time effectively during busy meal periods.
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to food safety protocols such as proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach when working with geriatric patients or residents requiring special diets.
Basic math skills for portion control and inventory management.
Knowledge of workplace safety standards including PPE use and safe lifting practices to prevent injury during heavy lifting tasks.
CPR certification is preferred to ensure readiness in emergency situations related to resident care.
