Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cuidador en <PERSON> to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in a residential or community setting. This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Maintain detailed care plans and document patient progress, observations, and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement.
- Ensure the safety of residents through manual handling, heavy lifting when required, and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a caregiver in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is essential.
- Ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks consistently.
