Gencor Industries is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Electrical Engineer who takes initiative and drives projects through completion. As a leading manufacturer of combustion technologies and engineered systems for industrial processing equipment, aggregate drying, and material handling industries, Gencor is looking for a qualified engineering professional to join our team.
LOCATION: Orlando, Florida (MUST LIVE IN ORLANDO or surrounding area - no relocation - contact and apply only after relocated).
ROLE:
The Electrical Engineer is part of a dynamic team and is responsible for the design and documentation of electrical components and systems for hot mix asphalt plants. The role creates custom engineered plant designs to meet customer specifications utilizing Draftsight. The candidate will be responsible to manage and track all assigned projects, including coordination of activities with production and quality control departments. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Department Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Member of an integrated engineering design team with responsibilities that include the design and integration of all manual and automatic controls necessary for asphalt plant operation
- Schematic design of digital and analog asphalt plant controls
- Creation of production BOMs
- Create 2D layout and wiring diagrams of control hardware in Draftsight
- Responsible for component selection and testing, such as temperature/limit controllers, HMI panels, and PLC controllers
- Adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols
- Provide technical direction to designers and drafters
- Provide technical project management of assigned projects
- Responsible for meeting engineering milestones of project schedules
- Work effectively with other departments including sales, production control, manufacturing, quality control, and customer service
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in electrical design
- 1+ years of experience in industrial automation design
- Experience with PLC programming
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products and software tools is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- The ability to travel as needed to perform the functions of the position
