Job Title: Handy Man-Drywaller
IDEAL for the retired individual looking to get out of the house a few times a week.
Handymaniacs will be driving their own car and using their own tools. Our service area is mostly a 30 mile radius surrounding Universal Orlando . In special circumstances mileage can be paid and tools can be provided or rented by HandyMania.

Responsibilities:
- We are currently looking for individuals with strong skills in the following areas:
- Repair/texture multiple drywall holes to a pre demo status of 98%.
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks in residential and commercial properties
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
- Conduct routine inspections to identify any issues or potential problems
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Install and repair fixtures, appliances, and equipment
- Paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Collaborate with property managers and tenants to address maintenance concerns
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance person or in a similar role
- , electrical, and carpentry work
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

A great attitude- To be successful with us, you need to like meeting new people, and enjoy it when you return to a previous customer. Word of mouth is our best advertising, and if you leave them happy, they will tell someone else!
Communication - There’s a digital recap at the end of each job. You need to be specific in what you did, and what might be needed next.
Sometimes our customers want an estimate. When you write one up, include all purchases that need to be made and hours you estimate it will take and send it to the owner so he can approve it.
A_ working phone_ is a must. We text information about changes to projects all the time. If your job requires more time, explain it to the customer, and call us so we can book another day or date. Some of our business partners require before and after photos.
You need to be a fluent English speaker, and be able to smile when your customer has trouble with it. We get all kinds of clients!
Be honest with our customers. If it’s going to take longer than estimated, make sure they know. We will work with them on cost if they need help.
Flexibility will let you stretch (your patience sometimes, and your skills). We never want to send you on project you’re not confident you can figure out. It’s excellent to have a specialty, but not required. You’ll find a confident, reassuring smile is your best tool. As long as you are willing to learn from your experiences, and enjoy a challenge, you can work for HandyMania!
Promptness and reliable transportation is important. We know traffic is often an issue, and if you’re stuck, feel free to call the client or the office manager, and let us know you’re running late, so they know when to expect you.
Common Sense - Never leave a job you wouldn’t be happy with in your own home.
Since COVID changed everything, always have a mask and feet covers in your car.
Do things the safest way. Don’t take risks. We try very hard not to accept jobs that are beyond our skills, but if we get a request for something our staff has the skills to handle. You may get a call to see if you’re willing to take “this one” on.
HandyMania needs HandyManiacs that can do at least some of the following things:
Be comfortable on a ladder, and able to work in high places
Drywall Installation/Repair including texture
Stucco patching
Woodworking (i.e., replacing window and door frames)
Replacing a screen
Power washing
Some painting skill
Caulking
Familiar with “replacing” items with electricity and plumbing, (i.e., garbage disposals, fans, smoke detectors, toilet repairs, sink leaks).
Familiar with sprinkler heads and replacing faucets etc.
Reliability and teamwork. Be ready to assist someone if asked whether it’s a customer or another HandyManiac
