Full Job Description

OCHS operates several Community Health Centers throughout Osceola County that are accredited by The Joint Commission for Ambulatory Care and Primary Care Medical Home.

This is a highly responsible, professional medical position in the practice area of Pediatrics, which is responsible for performing clinical practice duties in a comprehensive health care environment and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Complies with organization, Joint Commission or other accreditation standards. Privacy and security regulations (HIPAA) must be adhered to at all times. Duties include, but not limited to the following:

Diagnose, treat, and refer children who are enrolled in primary care and/or preventative health programs. This may include, but is not limited to, history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting laboratory analysis, dispensing medication, initiating case management conferences with professional staff, out of clinic referrals and/or requesting medical consultations with other consultants.

Works with CMO and Clinical Operations Administrator to ensure all protocols, procedures and standing orders reflect current medical practice. Coordinates with CMO and Clinical Operations Administrator on clinic schedules.

Monitor ARNPs and Medical Assistants as required under Florida Law assuring that patient care is being provided to all patients. Orients and trains new ARNPs. Participates in peer review and quality management meetings. Acts as a preceptor for medical students/ residents on rotation. Complies with Risk Management and Corporate Compliance program requirements.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience:

medical practice: 2 years (Preferred)

MD or DO license in Florida (Required)
