Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of electrical systems for advanced laser-based products, including welding and marking systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate with a high level of autonomy.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for owning complex electrical designs, driving product development initiatives, troubleshooting system-level issues, and mentoring junior engineers. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical and electronic systems, including analog and digital circuits.
Own troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of circuit boards, assemblies, and full system integrations down to the component level.
Drive new product development efforts, including architecture, prototyping, testing, and design iteration.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including:
Schematics
Bills of Materials
Test procedures and assembly documentation
Define and execute test plans to validate performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
Analyze test data and present findings through reports, charts, and design reviews to support engineering decisions.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC) and internal quality requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
Act as a technical liaison with suppliers, vendors, and external partners.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for field and production issues.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and design standards.
Support project planning, estimation, and execution to meet timelines and business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in product development or industrial systems.
Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems to the component level.
Proficiency with electrical design and documentation tools (e.g. Solidworks Electrical 2D/3D (preferred), AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
Experience with product development lifecycle, from concept through production.
Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change processes.
Experience designing for manufacturability, reliability, and safety.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g. UL508A, NEC, IEC).
Knowledge of power electronics and power distribution systems.
Experience with laser systems, photonics, or similar high-precision equipment.
Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.
