Yergey and Yergey, P.A. is a fourth-generation law firm founded in 1927, serving the Central Florida area. Over the past two decades, our practice has focused primarily on Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration.

Our clients trust us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We take that responsibility seriously and pride ourselves on providing exceptional client service with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.

Requirements

– Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a paralegal, with at least three years in Florida probate and trust administration

– Experience running formal estate administrations from the Petition for Administration through the Order of Discharge — not solely assisting on them

– Working command of the Florida probate deadlines — the 60-day inventory, the three-month creditor claims period, the four-month Statement Regarding Creditors, and the twelve-month final accounting and petition for discharge — computed from the documents in the file

– Experience e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal, including correcting a rejected filing and submitting proposed orders

– Disciplined certified-mail service and proof-of-service practice

– Strong, professional written English; you will draft correspondence that goes out over an attorney's signature

– Applicant must be organized and have excellent case management skills

Responsibilities

– Prepare petitions, oaths, notices, waivers and consents, proposed orders and Letters, and other probate and trust documents in compliance with the Florida Probate Code and Rules

– E-file through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and submit proposed orders under each judge's published procedure

– Serve Formal Notice, Notices to Creditors, and Notices of Administration by certified mail; track return receipts and file the proofs of service

– Identify and serve creditors — including AHCA where the decedent was 55 or older — review claims, and prepare objections, satisfactions, and the Statement Regarding Creditors

– Prepare inventories, annual and final accountings, petitions for discharge, plans of distribution, and related filings

– Draft correspondence and send certified mail

– Serve as the client's primary point of contact, keeping personal representatives and beneficiaries informed at each stage of the administration

– Assist with probate and trust litigation matters (litigation experience preferred)

– Provide comprehensive case management support

Compensation:

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
