Position: As a Beverage Blender Operator, you are responsible for preparing and mixing raw materials according to specified formulas and procedures to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the consistent and accurate blending of ingredients, follows safety and sanitation guidelines, and maintains detailed records of production activities.
Responsibilities:
- Load raw materials into blenders or mixing equipment according to batch recipes and production instructions.
- Operate blending machinery and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor mixing process and adjust equipment settings to ensure consistency and quality.
- Document batch records, lot numbers, and material usage accurately.
- Perform quality checks, pull samples and report any deviations or irregularities.
- Clean and sanitize blending equipment and work area in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management of raw materials and ingredients.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet production schedules and standards.
- Perform complex tank, hose/line connections to redirect flows.
- Troubleshoot valves, pumps, meters, solenoids, and valve matrix.
- Cross train in other jobs as needed.
- Regular attendance required.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Active participation in the plant safety program is required.
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding and ability to operate complex and basic tools.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in a timely manner.
- Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events and react well under pressure.
- Extremely accurate and detail oriented.
Preferred Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required; Lean Manufacturing Training is a plus.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or production environments preferred.
- Basic math and measurement skills required.
- Experience operating mixers, blenders, or similar production equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand production instructions, formulas, and safety procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to use scales, gauges, and other measuring tools accurately.
- Ability to use programs and software for manufacturing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions precisely.
- Ability to operate mixing and material handling equipment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in other production functions.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 75 pounds) of raw materials or finished product.
- Required to stand for extended periods (12 hours per shift).
- Frequent use of hands and arms for pouring, lifting, and operating controls.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching to access materials or clean equipment.
- May need to climb stairs or ladders to access equipment, elevated platforms.
- Regular movement around the production floor and between workstations.
- Must be able to visually inspect materials and hear warning alarms or instructions in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to sense by smell and flavor product
- Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in diverse temperature environments.
- Potential exposure to dust, strong odors, loud machinery, and fluctuating temperatures; must wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
