Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and inspection operations within a precision machining environment. This role will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Inspection teams to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and industry quality requirements. Responsibilities include quality system compliance, root cause investigations, first article inspections, dimensional verification, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing and inspection activities to ensure product quality and compliance.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Perform and support dimensional inspections using CMMs and precision measuring equipment.
Prepare and review AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
Develop and maintain quality documentation, inspection plans, and procedures.
Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality system compliance activities.
Partner with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve quality and reduce defects.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or precision machining environment.
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing quality systems.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Experience with CMM inspection, metrology equipment, and dimensional analysis.
Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements.
Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO quality systems.
Experience performing root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.

Preferred Background

Aerospace manufacturing experience.
Supplier quality experience.
PPAP, APQP, FMEA, PFMEA, and SPC experience.
Internal and external audit experience.
Hands-on inspection and metrology experience in a precision machining environment.
