About the Role

As a State Compliance Coordinator, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for nonprofit clients navigating state compliance requirements. You'll manage engagements from start to finish — coordinating timelines, communicating with clients, and working alongside specialists to make sure every filing is completed accurately and on time. This is a client-facing, project-management-focused role — ideal for someone who's organized, communicates clearly, and enjoys guiding clients through a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

What You'll Do

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout their compliance engagement
Manage project timelines from initiation through completion, ensuring accurate, on-time delivery
Communicate regularly with clients — via phone, email, and messaging platforms — to provide updates, request information, and explain compliance requirements in plain language
Review intake information to ensure projects are properly scoped, and coordinate with specialists to keep engagements moving
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our CRM and project management systems
Monitor filing deadlines and hold clients accountable for providing required information on time
Research and stay current on applicable state and federal regulatory requirements
Prepare and process required mailings and filings with federal and state agencies
Invoice filing fees and additional services as needed
Assess complex compliance situations and develop appropriate scopes of work

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in business, communication, finance, nonprofit administration, or a related field
2+ years of experience in nonprofit administration, customer service, project management, or a related field, or comparable experience
Ability to read and interpret basic financial statements — including balance sheets and income statements — to identify inconsistencies, incomplete information, or errors requiring client follow-up.
Basic understanding of nonprofit compliance requirements or administration
Strong client communication and customer service skills — comfortable being the face of a client's experience with us
Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously in a high-volume environment without losing accuracy or organization
Clear communicator who can translate regulatory requirements into plain, client-friendly language
Experience working within a CRM or similar system
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort using AI tools to support efficiency and accuracy
Strong work ethic, integrity, initiative, and sound judgment
Adaptable, accountable, and eager to grow
