Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, production supply, shipping support, team management, safety compliance, and continuous improvement. This role ensures accurate inventory, efficient material flow, timely support to production, and a well-organized warehouse environment that meets company standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

Manage daily warehouse operations, including inbound receiving, inspection coordination, put-away, storage, picking, kitting, line feeding, staging, outbound shipping support, and inventory transactions.
Establish and maintain clear warehouse processes, work instructions, and operational controls to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, protected, and organized by category, location, lot, model, or other required identification method.
Monitor warehouse workload and allocate manpower, equipment, and space to meet production and shipping requirements.

Inventory Control and Accuracy

Own inventory accuracy and lead cycle counts, physical inventory, variance investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Ensure all inventory movements are completed accurately and timely in ERP, WMS, barcode, or other company systems.
Implement FIFO, lot control, material aging control, shortage tracking, and excess or obsolete inventory management practices.
Partner with Planning, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Finance to resolve inventory discrepancies, material shortages, and system issues.

Production and Material Flow Support

Ensure production lines receive the correct materials, in the right quantity, at the right time, and in the correct sequence.
Develop and improve warehouse layouts, material routes, staging areas, supermarket areas, and replenishment processes to support lean manufacturing.
Coordinate with Production and Planning teams to prioritize urgent orders, prevent line stoppages, and improve material availability.
Support new model launches, engineering changes, material transitions, and inventory segregation requirements.

Team Leadership and Performance Management

Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, leads, forklift operators, material handlers, and warehouse specialists.
Assign daily responsibilities, monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
Create a disciplined work environment with clear expectations, standard work, shift handovers, and escalation processes.
Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, attendance management, and performance evaluations for warehouse team members.

Safety, 5S, and Compliance

Ensure warehouse operations comply with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, equipment operating rules, and material handling standards.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper use of PPE, forklifts, pallet jacks, racks, docks, and storage equipment.
Maintain 5S standards across all warehouse areas, including clear aisles, organized locations, clean staging areas, and visual management.
Investigate safety incidents, near misses, material damage, and process failures; implement corrective and preventive actions.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

Identify and lead improvements in warehouse layout, labor efficiency, storage utilization, picking accuracy, receiving speed, material flow, and inventory control.
Track and report warehouse KPIs, including inventory accuracy, cycle count results, receiving timeliness, picking accuracy, material shortages, productivity, safety, and 5S performance.
Use data and root cause analysis to address recurring issues and drive sustainable improvements.
Support audits, management reviews, cost reduction initiatives, and cross-functional improvement projects.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of warehouse, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain experience required; manufacturing warehouse experience is strongly preferred.
Minimum 2 years of warehouse team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory control, material handling, cycle counting, warehouse layout, production material supply, and shipping support processes.
Experience using ERP, WMS, barcode scanning, inventory systems, or similar warehouse management tools required.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, data analysis, reporting, and inventory reconciliation.
Forklift certification or experience managing forklift operations preferred.
Ability to communicate in both English and Chinese is a must, especially for coordination with overseas suppliers, cross-functional teams, or headquarters.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organization, and execution skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing production priorities.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling.
Ability to lift or move materials within company safety guidelines.
Ability to work around forklifts, pallet jacks, racks, docks, and production equipment.
Overtime or flexible hours may be required based on production, inventory, shipping, or business needs.
