Full Job Description

A Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial litigation experience, strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, and exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence in state and federal courts
Manage electronic court filings (e‑filing/e‑service), monitor dockets, and track critical deadlines
Assist attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
Draft and organize discovery requests and responses, exhibits, and document productions
Maintain attorney calendars, schedule hearings and litigation events, and provide proactive deadline reminders
Open, maintain, and organize physical and electronic client and case files
Assist with trial preparation, including binders, exhibits, witness materials, and filings
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third‑party vendors
Conduct conflict checks and support general administrative tasks such as time entry, billing support, and document management

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5 years of litigation legal assistant or legal support experience in a Florida law firm
Strong working knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and court practices
Proficiency with court e‑filing systems and document management platforms
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline‑driven environment
Familiarity with trial and courtroom procedures
