Job Description
Nutrex Research Inc. is seeking a QC & Operations Assistant for a full-time, on-site position at our facility in Oviedo, FL.
The QC & Operations Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Operations Department across supply chain operations, inventory management, and quality and compliance. This position provides vital organizational support and is responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks that help keep operations running efficiently.
A successful candidate will be methodical, organized, action- and detail-oriented, digitally literate, and possess a sharp memory along with excellent oral and written communication skills. The right individual should have a strong understanding of inventory management, quality control, warehousing, and business accounting principles.

Responsibilities
- Assist Operations Administrator with daily shipment monitoring, vendor communication, and item receipt activity.
- Support the Operations Department with new project coordination.
- Assist in R&D product evaluations (e.g., taste, texture, aroma, mixability, and performance feedback) and maintain detailed sample logs.
- Utilize ERP system for item creation and item field auditing.
- Assist Quality & Regulatory Manager with label reviews and approvals.
- Maintain physical label retain files and assist with regular label review audits.
- Support QC retain management, including finished goods inspections, logging, and QC room rotations.
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of finished products and packaging to verify conformance to specifications and labeling requirements.
- Maintain and organize Quality Control retain samples, ensuring accurate labeling, logging, and rotation tracking.
- Document and escalate non-conformance issues, deviations, or product complaints to the Quality & Regulatory Manager for review.
- Support the vendor qualification and auditing process by collecting and reviewing vendor compliance documentation (e.g., allergen, Halal/Kosher, and GMP certificates).
- Assist with raw material COA requests and Safety Data Sheet requests for sales/logistics.
- Coordinate third-party testing (microbial, heavy metals, stability, etc.) for finished products to ensure Amazon and FDA compliance.
- Participate in inventory counts, internal audits, mock recalls, and compliance review activities as requested.
- Support development, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve quality and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with FDA, FTC, and NSF guidelines relevant to dietary supplements and conventional foods.
- Perform other tasks or special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Working understanding of inventory control procedures, supply chain management, and associated transactions.
- Lift up to 40lbs, walk, bend, climb step ladders, reach across shelves, etc.
- Must be able and willing to taste-test and evaluate Nutrex products as part of Quality Control and R&D processes. This includes consuming dietary supplement samples in various forms (e.g., powders, beverages, capsules, etc.) that may contain caffeine, stimulants, or common allergens. Because this is an essential function of the role, applicants must be able to safely perform taste testing. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required — including formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and conditional formatting).

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience in an R&D, Quality, Administrative, or Operational role.
- Familiarity with dietary supplement regulations, including 21 CFR Part 111, 21 CFR Part 117, and DSHEA.
- Understanding of GMP principles as they apply to dietary supplement manufacturing and labeling.
- Experience supporting project management is a plus.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic) are a plus.
