Responsibilities:

- Conduct financial audits of various organizations, including non-profit entities and government agencies

- Evaluate financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and standards

- Perform risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern or vulnerability

- Develop audit plans and procedures to address identified risks and ensure comprehensive coverage

- Test internal controls to assess their effectiveness in mitigating risks and safeguarding assets

- Analyze financial data and transactions to identify irregularities or discrepancies

- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations for improvement

- Collaborate with clients to address any concerns or questions related to the audit process

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

- CPA certification or CPA track is preferred but not required

- Experience in financial management, public accounting, or a similar role

- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices

- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations

- Proficiency in risk management concepts and techniques

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
