About the Position
Genox Transportation is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead a new chemical warehousing and just-in-time delivery operation supporting customers in the aerospace industry.
This is an opportunity to play an important role in launching and developing a new operation. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of the facility, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, regulatory compliance, employee supervision, and scheduled and emergency deliveries.
This is a working manager position. In addition to leading the operation, the Warehouse Manager must be willing to assist with loading, unloading, material handling, forklift operation, inventory activities, and customer deliveries when operationally necessary.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader who is comfortable working independently, establishing processes, maintaining accurate electronic records, operating commercial vehicles and warehouse equipment, and representing Genox professionally with a high-profile aerospace customer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the setup and day-to-day operation of a new chemical warehouse and delivery operation.
- Manage receiving, inspection, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and delivery activities.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse associates, drivers, and other assigned personnel.
- Establish organized warehouse locations, labeling practices, inventory procedures, and work processes.
- Coordinate daily just-in-time, scheduled, expedited, and emergency deliveries to customer locations.
- Ensure orders are accurately picked, packed, documented, staged, and delivered on time.
- Maintain accurate electronic inventory records using barcode scanners, warehouse-management systems, and other technology.
- Track lot numbers, expiration dates, shelf life, storage requirements, and inventory rotation.
- Perform and oversee cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation, delivery records, shipping documents, and bills of lading.
- Ensure chemicals and hazardous materials are properly labeled, segregated, stored, secured, and handled.
- Review Safety Data Sheets and maintain current safety and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, fire code, hazardous-material, customer, and company requirements.
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, safety performance, and work quality.
- Investigate damaged products, spills, inventory discrepancies, transportation delays, and service failures.
- Manage inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and audit-ready warehouse.
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, drivers, operations personnel, security representatives, and company leadership.
- Participate in customer audits, safety meetings, inventory reviews, and operational training.
- Assist with loading, unloading, picking, packing, forklift operation, and deliveries when necessary.
- Respond to emergency and after-hours operational needs as required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement.
- Safe driving record and ability to meet Genox Transportation driver qualification standards.
- At least three years of warehouse, distribution, transportation, logistics, or supply-chain experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse, transportation, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Experience coordinating scheduled, just-in-time, expedited, or emergency deliveries.
- Experience with receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
- Experience using warehouse-management, inventory-control, transportation-management, or barcode-scanning systems.
- Strong computer, data-entry, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and company leadership.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screening, criminal background check, employment verification, and driving-record review.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all customer-required security credentials and access to secured aerospace facilities.
- Availability to respond to occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, holiday, emergency, or after-hours operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a chemical, hazardous-material, manufacturing, industrial, aviation, or aerospace warehouse.
- Forklift operator certification.
- OSHA, HAZWOPER, hazardous-material, spill-response, or emergency-response training.
- Knowledge of DOT hazardous-material transportation requirements.
- Experience handling drums, totes, pallets, packaged chemicals, or regulated materials.
- Experience supporting secured industrial, military, aviation, or aerospace facilities.
- Experience helping launch or develop a new warehouse or transportation operation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, material-handling equipment, and commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb into and out of commercial vehicles.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
This position pays $100,000 per year.
