Community Director | Multifamily Property Management

An established and growing multifamily property management company is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Community Director / Property Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and overall performance of an apartment community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multifamily professional who thrives in a leadership role, understands the business side of property management, and is passionate about creating a positive experience for both residents and employees.

The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on leader who can balance team development, leasing performance, financial management, resident relations, compliance, and property operations while maintaining high standards across the community.

What You'll Do

As the Community Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of the community, including:

Lead, coach, train, and develop the onsite leasing team
Direct and coordinate with the maintenance team to support overall property operations
Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee development
Drive occupancy, leasing, renewal, resident-retention, and overall property performance
Monitor property financial performance and operating expenses
Lead the annual budgeting process and manage operations within established budget guidelines
Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly property reporting
Monitor rent collection, deposits, invoices, financial transactions, and property records
Ensure lease files and required documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant
Oversee resident move-ins, move-outs, notices to vacate, and related processes
Address resident concerns, service requests, inquiries, and conflict resolution professionally
Oversee lease enforcement and resident account matters, including coordination of applicable legal and eviction processes in accordance with company policy and applicable law
Partner with vendors and contractors regarding scheduling, billing, documentation, and property needs
Monitor market conditions, competitive properties, pricing trends, and industry activity
Support leasing efforts and property marketing initiatives as needed
Conduct regular property, common-area, office, and model inspections
Maintain community standards and ensure the property is presented at a high level
Ensure applicable Fair Housing, safety, and property management compliance requirements are followed
Hold team members accountable to established performance expectations and goals
Analyze property performance and implement action plans when results are below expectations
Build strong working relationships with residents, prospective residents, employees, vendors, and business partners

What You Need to Apply

High school diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years of multifamily property management experience preferred, with prior experience leading an onsite team strongly preferred
Strong leadership, team management, coaching, and employee development skills
Knowledge of Fair Housing requirements, lease enforcement, eviction processes, and legal considerations affecting property management
Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, rent collection, and basic bookkeeping
Strong sales, marketing, leasing, and customer service abilities
Demonstrated ability to drive property performance and hold teams accountable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong conflict-resolution, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and general computer applications
Experience with property management software; Yardi, RentCafe, YieldStar, or comparable platforms preferred
Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required
