Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Personal Injury (Defense)

Burger, Meyer & D'Angelo, LLP

We are seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our insurance defense practice in Ladera Ranch, CA. We represent gig economy companies in auto related liability matters and handle premises liability matters. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, needs to be thorough, organized, able to multi-task and pay close attention to details. Someone who is efficient on tasks and follow-up and possesses strong time management, organizational and communication skills. All applications will be kept in confidence. We have offices in Carlsbad, Ladera Ranch, Torrance, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, and New York. We are open to hybrid, remote, or full-time office depending on experience of the individual we hire.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research and document review.
Manage legal case files, ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
E-filing
Draft and proofread legal documents, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Communicate effectively with clients and court personnel, demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced law office environment.

Qualifications

Strong civil litigation experience with a focus on document review and litigation
Excellent communication and time management skills
Familiarity with document management systems and case management software
Ability to maintain phone etiquette and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Experience in proofreading and document preparation
