Job Listing: Security Guard with Vehicle Patrol

Location: California Department of Water Resources (DWR) Facilities

Position: Full-Time Security Guard (Patrol and Stationary Positions Available)

Schedule:

Patrol: Part-Time and Full Time (30-40 hours)
Dispatch: Full Time (30-40 hours)

Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and professional Security Guards to join our team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of state-owned properties, including remote facilities and areas with limited access. As part of our team, you will provide 24/7 security coverage, including vehicle patrol, monitoring facilities, responding to incidents, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Patrol: Operate and maintain four (4) 4-wheel drive vehicles, ensuring they are clean, fueled, and in good working order.
Security and Surveillance: Conduct roving, stationary, or mobile patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, perimeter fencing, and emergency systems.
Incident Reporting: Complete daily activity reports (DAR) and incident reports for any security violations, disturbances, or accidents.
Communication: Maintain constant communication with the Area Control Center (ACC), Security Operations Center (SOC), and Field Division Security Coordinator (FDSC) as required.
Routine Inspections: Inspect doors, locks, gates, and regulatory signs to ensure all security measures are in place and functioning.
Accident and Damage Management: Report any vehicle accidents or damage immediately to supervisors and assist with the completion of the incident report.
Response to Alarms: Respond to intrusion alarms and investigate potential security threats, contacting law enforcement if necessary.

Dispatcher

· CCTV Monitoring: Monitor and assess surveillance footage from CCTV cameras across critical areas to detect suspicious activities or anomalies.

· Gate Access Control: Manage and control access to the facility via gate access systems, ensuring authorized personnel and visitors are granted entry.

· Emergency Response: Respond to alarms and emergency situations, following established protocols for fire, medical emergencies, active shooter events, and bomb threats.

· Communication: Maintain communication with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and field teams via radio, phone, or internal systems. Report incidents clearly and promptly.

· Visitor Management: Verify the identity of visitors and ensure they follow the proper sign-in and sign-out procedures.

· System Maintenance: Perform regular checks on CCTV and access control systems to ensure they are functioning properly. Report any equipment malfunctions.

· Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive security information and follow all security procedures as required by policy.

Requirements:

Valid Security Guard License and ability to maintain compliance with state regulations.
Ability to drive and operate 4-wheel drive vehicles, with a clean driving record.
Physical ability to patrol large areas, including unpaved surfaces.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and in stressful situations.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to report findings clearly and professionally.
Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, with occasional overtime.

· Strong Attention to Detail and ability to follow precise instructions.

· Ability to stay calm and effective during emergencies or stressful situations.

· Excellent Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

· Technical Skills: Comfortable using CCTV and access control systems, along with basic computer skills.

Hiring Bonus:

A $300 hiring bonus will be provided after successful completion of a 120-day probationary period, following review of all Platinum Security and DWR policies.
