Are you detail-driven, service-minded, and interested in playing a key role in local government? The City of Oshkosh is looking for a Deputy City Clerk to support essential city operations, including elections, licensing, public records, City Council agenda preparation, and customer service.

What You’ll Do
As Deputy City Clerk, you will assist with a wide range of important municipal functions, including:
- Supporting and coordinating local elections, absentee voting, voter registration, poll worker training, and WisVote tasks
- Processing liquor, tobacco, bartender/operator, taxi, special event, and other municipal licenses
- Preparing agenda items, resolutions, notices, records, and official documents
- Providing excellent customer service to residents, applicants, businesses, and City staff
- Maintaining accurate records and helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Serving as a trusted backup to the City Clerk, including occasionally attending after-hours meetings
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- At least three years of administrative or clerical experience
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- The ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and database systems
- A valid driver’s license
Municipal Clerk certification, election experience, WisVote experience, some college coursework in business or public administration, and supervisory experience are preferred.
