Non-Instructional Program Secretary (Counseling Office) – Othello High School – 8.0 hrs/day (Bilingual Preferred)

Job Description

Update OHS Course Handbook on a yearly basis
Responsible for all Skyward Grad requirements changes and updates. Creating courses, maintaining class course codes, and inputting sections for yearly Master Scheduling.
Update and link Skyward Curriculum Master and make correction in CEDARS.
All correspondence from the Counseling Office to include but not limited to: testing, graduation, student grades, transcripts, parent meetings, scholarships, and scholarship bulletins.
Work and coordinate regarding all aspects of local scholarships including contacting organizations for interviews, working with students to submit applications and organizing local scholarship gatherings
Compile statistics from previous years graduating class.
Create local and outside scholarship inset for graduation program and arrange seating for administration.
Update classes and teacher to the Master Schedule Board and update Student Schedule book (twice a semester).
Attend all trainings and meetings as requested.
Send out request for transcripts/records to other schools to update current student records.
Track college in the high school enrollment, I-Grant pay, self-pay, and class drop.
Assist students, parents, and staff not limited to foot traffic, but also via telephone and email.
Keep counseling office supplied with appropriate supplies and order when needed. Also keeping counseling office in presentable order at all times.
Assist counselors whenever needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate, or GED.
One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successfully pass a skill review in math, English, and computer management, of which some is written and practical (Department Secretary Test).
Personable, punctual, dependable, ability to deal with stress, good time management skills and good initiative.
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively with patrons or employees of organization.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Physically able to occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds.
Able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and grasp as required to successfully perform all duties and requirements.
Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus), clear vision at 20 inches or less, and clear vision at 20 feet or more.

Terms of Employment

Starting Date: TBD

Salary: Per PSE CBA - Schedule A

Hours: 8.0 hours/day (Arranged by supervisor)

Contracted Days: 182 work days & 7 holidays (189 total contracted days)
