Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position reports directly to the Chief County Assessment Officer and involves the supervision of all employees. This position
will open and close the office as scheduled. Responsibilities also include human resource issues including hiring and firing. With
limited supervision, the employee performs technical tasks and projects requiring independent thought and decisions. This
position is responsible for training and interaction with township assessors regarding the computerized property record system
(CAMA) as well as residential reassessment projects. Responsibilities also include basic fiscal operation and the meeting of
various statutory deadlines. The employee must establish and maintain effective working relationships with office staff, the
public and other county offices. There is a responsibility for performing special assignments within the position description as
assigned by the CCAO. Knowledge of safety and office procedures as well as assessment and statutory guidelines is required.
There may be limited after hour and weekend meetings with taxpayers and or township assessors.

Responsible for overall maintenance of tax cycle completion including functions completed by GIS and the commercial/industrial areas.

Supervise all assessment level deadlines in each department and assist the CCAO with all State Reports and rolling to each level.
Trains and interacts with all township assessors and office staff regarding CAMA software and reassessment projects.

Performs in depth research at the request of the Board of Review.

This position answers directly to the CCAO.

Works 40 hours per week, but hours may be assigned at times that are other than the typical 8:00 am to 4:30 pm time frame in order to

complete projects under deadline.

Required to assist with any statutory required meetings, Annual Assessor Mtg & Annual Farm Mtg.

Responsible for any and all Newspaper, Website or Radio publication or announcements required by statute.

Responsible for having office available to employees and public during all open hours of business.
Responsible for coordinating any damage assessments due to an EMA situation.
This position would also require you to answer phones and wait on the counter.

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the County’s Safety Policy and Procedure Manual

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

High school graduation or equivalent.

Completion of a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer Designation within two years of hiring – course availability and budget

appropriations allowing.

Above average knowledge of computer processes and office machines.

Advanced knowledge of current practices of office management, including office systems, practices and procedures.

Good knowledge of English.

and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal.
